Imagine this? An entire city dedicated to BMW cars by the brand itself. Well, this past weekend, BMW made it happen for its loyal customer base by bringing the M-Top City to Jo’burg. Built off the brilliant campaign that has been running globally, BMW treated its owners club to an adventure fueled by nothing shy of M Power. The day was also used to showcase a few models that set to be seen on the streets of SA in the coming months through some feature films and exclusive “drops” in the city.
The History Of M-Town
The concept has been driven from BMW’s very “Eldorado” town where the community gets together around the brand’s most powerful letter, the M. The town has been the basis of celebrating BMW’s M-Power vehicles from 2018 by grouping them up into one single ‘pot of gold’ for enthusiasts to enjoy while having fun under the sun.

Since 2018, the event has grown from being a mere concept to an actual day where BMW owners get to enjoy a range of the brand’s M-Power cars and get to experience them in their full might, under controlled environments of course.
The 2021 M-City also paid homage to an iconic box shaped BMW that is no stranger to the streets of South Ah. I mean, there is no way that you would drive into any kasi in SA and not get whistles of appreciation – I’m talking about the iconic 325is.

Attendees at this year’s M-City Drop were treated to none other than The 2021 Red Bull Shay’ imoto winner, Samkeliso Thubane, show casing exactly why he reigns supreme in the competition.
Overall, the showdown was a fun day in which guest and their families could truly enjoy and appreciated the M brand, even though the pandemic that set it back from the original experience. It would be great to see how the event grow amidst our current climate, across the nation.
